Technicians of Caterpillar engines and machinery can use CBT to learn how to decipher error messages and diagnose problems. Once a symptom has been identified, the technician is shown a list of parts that, if malfunctioning, could be the source of the problem. The technician will be able to determine what caused the ailment by using the information provided for each component. A list of ECMs and diagnostic fault codes specific to the selected model are also displayed to the technician. In addition, CBT provides the technician with in-system links to further resources for a given set of symptoms and corresponding codes.
